AURORA, Ill. – The Illinois Tech women's cross country team traveled to nearby Aurora to compete at Aurora University's Spartan Classic at Oakhurst Forest Preserve on Friday. On a slick course due to the recent rains, the Scarlet Hawks placed 16th in the first 6k race of the season.
- Erin Nelson led the way for the second race in a row, placing 90th with a time of 29:52.1
- Continuing to make solid progress was sophomore Zoey Krevitz, as she finished in 97th with a time of 31:55.7.
- Jasmine Baste, Madalyn Urig, and Rosemary Johnson all ran the first 6k race of their collegiate careers. Baste (34:13.8) and Urig (34:58.6) finished within a minute of each other.
- The Scarlet Hawks will compete next on Saturday, September 15 at the UW-Whitewater Tom Hoffman Invite. Meet time is set for 10:45 a.m. on Whitewater's Campus Course.
