Second Straight Extra Play Match

Chicago, IL – Normally a final fifth game of a volleyball match is played with the winner being the first to 15 points with a two point margin or greater. But in the last two matches the Hawks have played beyond the 15 point until a two point lead was gained. Unfortunately Tech ended on the bottom for the second straight time falling to Robert Morris University (22-25, 25-21, 16-25, 25-15, 19-21).

Roma Mirutenko highlighted the night with 15 kills, also adding three assists, 11 digs and one block. Senior Kate Kendall led all scorers with 16 kills to pair with 17 digs and four blocks. Taylor Duman tallied eight kills with three blocks. Brittany Mead in the libero spot defended 23 attacks on the night. Shea Manley was again the setter and totaled 42 assists to six kills and also digging 17 balls.

The Hawks are now 8-16 on the season and next up is Purdue University-North Central who is the host of this weekends final CCAC Crossover Tournament.
