Elmhurst, Ill. - Coming off an uplifting five-set victory at conference foe Dominican on Tuesday, the Illinois Tech women's volleyball team was looking to extend the positive vibes when they traveled to Elmhurst Friday night for a non-conference match. The Blue Jays had other plans for this evening, however, as they swept the match 3-0. The Scarlet Hawks fell to 4-17 overall on the season. The Blue Jays improved to 12-7.
London Francis paced the Scarlet Hawks with 5 kills and a .400 attack percentage, to go along with 3 blocks.
Victoria Aspurez led with 4 blocks.
Kelsey Starnes had 17 digs and a 1.000 receive percentage on 22 chances.

Elmhurst 3 - Illinois Tech 0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-18)
The Blue Jays never trailed in any of the three sets.
In set one, after Elmhurst jumped out to a 6-2 lead, the Scarlet Hawks captured the next three points to pull within one point at 6-5. The Blue Jays countered with a 6-0 run to extend their lead to 12-6, en route to a 25-13 set one victory.
After falling behind 10-3 in set two, Illinois Tech rallied for a 9-3 run to close the gap to 13-12. But Elmhurst closed out the set with a 12-6 advantage, winning set two 25-18.
Elmhurst continued their momentum into the third set, opening with a 10-2 run. The Hawks could not get closer than seven points for the duration of the set, with the Blue Jays ultimately winning 25-18 to take the match.
