Plymouth, Wis. - Illinois Tech men's soccer ran into a buzzsaw Saturday afternoon at Lakeland University, as the host Muskies blanked the Scarlet Hawks 5-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play. The loss dropped the Scarlet Hawks to 3-3-1 in conference, and 4-5-6 overall. Lakeland earned their second conference victory, moving to 2-6 in NACC play and 3-8-1 overall.
Five different Muskies scored in the match, including Andres Gonzales just under two minutes into the match, and Alessandro Bianchi just 10 minutes later, to give Lakeland a 2-0 early lead. The Muskies would add goals in the 22nd, 52nd and 69th minutes to extend their lead to 5-0, the eventual final score.
The Scarlet Hawks were outshot 15-8 for the match, and shots on goal also favored the Muskies, 10-2.
