Trautmann Mendez Earns All-Tournament Honors For Women's Volleyball

Wheaton, Ill. - Topping off her first week of collegiate action after being sidelined by injury to start the season, Illinois Tech women's volleyball player Karla Trautmann Mendez was named to the all-tournament team at the Marilyn Scribner Invitational this past weekend at Wheaton College.

Trautmann Mendez finished the three weekend matches with 22 kills, just one off the team lead by Briar Moore, and averaged 2.00 kills per set. Trautmann Mendez also had a .340 attack percentage, which led the team. On the defensive side, she finished with 9 total blocks. She was among 10 players chosen among the eight participating schools for all-tournament recognition.
