Chicago, Ill. - At Stuart Field on Tuesday, September 19, the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks women's soccer team welcomed the No.16 Calvin University Knights for a non-conference match-up. In a cold, and at times rainy, contest, the Hawks (5-1-1) and the Knights (5-0-2) battled for the full 90 minutes. In a game that only saw one shot on goal, the Hawks and Knights both put in a defensive effort to keep the game at a scoreless draw.
Coming into the match, the Calvin University Knights received a ranking of 16th in the nation in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25 NCAA DIII Rankings. For the Region VIII Poll, the Knights are currently ranked 2nd, while the Hawks are ranked 6th.
