Women's Basketball Staves Off Dominican For Conference Road Victory

River Forest, Ill. -  Camden Joko scored 21 points, Grace Goodnough had a double-double, and the Illinois Tech women's basketball team held off a late rally by the host Dominican University Stars for a 71-68 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) victory Wednesday night. With the win, the Scarlet Hawks snapped a five-game losing streak, and improved their record to 2-3 in conference play and 3-10 overall. The Stars fell to 0-5 in conference, and 1-13 overall.

The Stars would regroup, however, scoring 10 of the first 12 points in the fourth quarter to pull ahead 58-57 with 7:04 remaining. The Hawks would not hold a lead again until a Goodnough layup at the 2:40 mark moved them out in front, 67-66. It would ultimately be a lead the Scarlet Hawks would never surrender.
