Swimming And Diving Wrap Up Regular Season With Split At Lake Forest

Lake Forest, Ill. - Competing in their final regular season meet before the Liberal Arts Conference Championships in mid-February, the Illinois Tech swimming and diving team split their dual meet against host Lake Forest College Saturday afternoon.

The men's team defeated Lake Forest 138-92, while the women's team fell to the Foresters 121-73.

Bjarne van Oord of the men's team broke the Lake Forest pool record in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 58.12. The previous record had been held since 2016.

The men's team finished 2-2 in single-dual meets on the season, and also took first place in the home double-dual meet against North Central (IL) and Manchester.

The women's team finished 0-4 in single-dual meets, but also took first place in the home double-dual against North Central (IL) and Manchester.
