Game Recap: Women's Volleyball | | by Eric Willuweit

Women's Volleyball Outlasted By Benedictine

Chicago, Ill. - After opening conference play with a road victory at MSOE, the Illinois Tech women's volleyball team was looking to put an end to a three-game Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) losing streak when they hosted Benedictine University Wednesday night at the Keating Center. The Scarlet Hawks narrowly lost the opening set, came back to win set two to pull even, but ultimately the Eagles were too strong on this night, as they won the next two sets for the 3-1 match victory. With the loss, the Scarlet Hawks fell to 1-4 in conference play, and to 9-10 overall. The Eagles improved to 4-1 in NACC play, and to 8-9 overall.

The Scarlet Hawks are by no means out of conference post-season contention, as they still have eight more NACC contests on the docket. But the early deficit has the Hawks on the outside looking in for the top eight spots that qualify for post-season tournament. The Hawks will have to make up ground over the next few weeks to put themselves into the conversation.
