Chicago, Ill. – In a rare Monday night contest, the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks women's soccer team welcomed their Southside neighbors the University of Chicago (UChicago) Maroons to Stuart Field for a non-conference match up. Entering the contest, the Hawks looked to secure a win over the Maroons, who held a 5-1 series history lead over the Hawks. In the last United Soccer Coaches Region VIII Poll, released on October 15th, the Hawks were ranked 6th with a 9-2-1 overall record while the Maroons were ranked two spots ahead in 4th with an 8-4 overall record at the time. At the conclusion of the 90 minutes of action, the Hawks (11-2-2) and Maroons (9-4-1) fought hard and battled to a 0-0 draw as neither team was able to find the back of the net, bringing the series history to 5-1-1 in favor of the Maroons.

The Hawks have one day of rest before turning around to take on the Benedictine University Eagles on Wednesday, October 23 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) action. The Hawks will be on the road in Lisle, Ill. to take on the Eagles. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
