Valparaiso, Ind. - The Illinois Tech swimming and diving team hit the road for the first time this season last Friday, October 18th, competing in the Valparaiso Double Dual with Quincy University and host Valparaiso University. The meet was the start of a stretch of three consecutive road meets for the Scarlet Hawks.

The Scarlet Hawks left the Hoosier State with three first-place finishes, four second-place finishes and four third-place finishes. 

Senior Claire van Biljon led the way for the Scarlet Hawks with three first-place finishes in the women's competition: 

• 1st Place - 200-yard Freestyle - 2:00.78
• 1st Place - 50-yard Freestyle - 25.15
• 1st Place - 100-yard Freestyle - 54.31

The Scarlet Hawks will stay in-state this weekend, when they travel to Bourbonnais, Illinois on Saturday, October 26th for the Olivet Quadrangular with host Olivet Nazarene University, Wheaton College and the University of Chicago. The meet gets underway at 1:00pm.
