Swimming Notches Saturday Sweep Against Carroll

Chicago, Ill. - With the first half of the season schedule nearing a close, the Illinois Tech swimming and diving team hosted Carroll University for a dual meet Saturday at Ekco Pool. When the final lap was swam, the Scarlet Hawks came away with a pair of victories against the Pioneers.

The men's team came away with a 144.5 - 42.5 win over Carroll, garnering 10 first-place finishes, 10 second-place finishes and 8 third-place finishes over the 13 men's events, including sweeping top-three finishes in 8 events.

On the women's side, the Scarlet Hawks defeated the Pioneers 102 - 93, with 7 first-place finishes, 5 second-place finishes and 3 third-place finishes.

Men's Swimming
  • Alexandre Ducret with 3 first-place finishes, including a personal-best of 22.20 as the relay leadoff in the 200 yard freestyle relay
  • Giorgio Turchetti with 3 first-place finishes, including a personal-best of 1:00.59 in the 100 yard breaststroke
  • Ian Novak with 2 first-place finishes and 1 second-place finish, with season-best times in the 50 yard freestyle (22.23) and the 100 yard butterfly (53.26)
