Greenwood, Ind. - Juniors Anna Elena Sofia Sebastio and London Francis, along with sophomores Karla Trautmann Mendez and Victoria Aspurez of Illinois Tech women's volleyball were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2024 Women's Volleyball Academic All-District® Team for NCAA Division III.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a sophomore or higher in class level, carry a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average (out of a scale of 4), must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games/contests.
The four Illinois Tech women's volleyball players were among only 34 other women's volleyball players from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) to earn Academic All-District® honors. Additionally, Illinois Tech was one of six NACC schools to have the maximum number of four women's volleyball players named to the Academic All-District® Team, with Benedictine, Concordia Chicago, Concordia Wisconsin, Edgewood, and Wisconsin Lutheran being the others.
Both Sebastio and Trautmann Mendez carried 4.00 cumulative grade-point averages at the time of submission.
