Chicago, Ill. – In their first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) game of the 2024-2025 season, the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks women's basketball team welcomed the Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) Falcons to Joe Hakes Court inside the Keating Sports Center. Sporting their new uniforms for the first time, the Hawks looked to get back in the win column to start off the conference season while the Falcons looked for their first overall win. At the final horn, the Falcons (1-5, 1-1) picked up their first win of the season as they defeated the Hawks (1-5, 0-1) 68-37.
In a game that saw one tied score and two lead changes, it would be the Falcons who pulled away with a huge fourth quarter to seal the victory. During the first quarter of action, a free throw by Chloe Churilla tied the contest at 8-8 with 2:07 on the clock. The Hawks then held the lead for the first time at 1:44 when Allie Sillo nailed a three pointer. Just before the end of the quarter, the Falcons jumped ahead with a 1-point, 12-11 lead. From that moment on, the Falcons led the rest of the way, eventually winning the game 68-37.
Chloe Churilla led the Hawks in action, recording 11 points and six rebounds while picking up one assist and the Hawks lone block. Ava Booth led the Falcons in points with 20. She finished with five rebounds, 2 assists, and one steal.
