Naperville, Ill. - For their second match of the 2024 season, the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks men's tennis team traveled to take on the North Central College Cardinals in non-conference action. The Saturday night match, which took place at the Naperville Tennis Club, saw the Cardinals (3-1) take a 8-1 victory over the Hawks (1-1). The doubles partners of Pol Dueso Guell and Nabil Fawaz picked up the Hawks lone win of the night.
Singles
In the No. 1 match, Ramon Vilarroig (NCC) def. Davis Housman (IIT) 6-0, 6-0.
The No. 2 match between Justin Penados (NCC) and Alann Torres (IIT) was closer, but saw Penados of NCC defeat Alann 6-3, 6-4
For the No. 3 match, Wyatt Crowell (NCC) def. Nabil Fawaz (IIT) 7(7)-6(3), 6-2
Rafael Lessa (NCC) def. Pol Dueso Guell (IIT) 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 4 match
In the No. 5 match, Henry Ros (NCC) def. Eduardo Lopezr (IIT) 6-1, 6-2
Lastly, in the No. 6 match, Ned Curley (NCC) def. Jordan Lauer (IIT) 6-1, 6-1
Doubles
For the No. 1 match, Wyatt Crowell & Guilermo Gonzalez (NCC) def. Alann Torres & Avneet Singh (IIT) 8-3
In the No. 2 match, Ramon Vilarroig Martinez & Matt Sengphommachamh (NCC) def. Jordan Laur & Davis Housman 8-0
The Hawks lone win came in the No. 3 match as Pol Dueso Guell & Nabil Fawaz (IIT) def. Matt Crossland & Justin Penados (NCC) 8-6
