Chicago, Ill. - For a solo non-conference contest, the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks baseball team welcomed the Elmhurst University Bluejay's to Ed Glancy Field. A scoreless game through five innings, the Hawks (6-11) got the bats going starting in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Hawks would go on to record more runs while holding the Bluejays run-less to win the game 7-0.

Following a scoreless five inning, Connor Blake put the Hawks on the board with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to put the Hawks ahead.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Hawks added another run when Connor Blake scored off a Samuel Sproule double, giving the Hawks a 3-0 lead.

Four more runs would score in the bottom of the eighth to secure the Hawks victory. With runners on first and second, Tyler Gutsfeld singled up the middle, bringing home Jack Friar. In the following at bat, Michael Paxson slammed a 3-run home run to give the Hawks their 7-0 victory.

The Hawks will return to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Saturday when they travel to Verona, Wis. to take on the Edgewood College Eagles in a double header. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 1:00 PM with game two to follow.
