Depth-Depleted Women's Lacrosse Overwhelmed By Edgewood

Verona, Wis. - Playing a second consecutive game with only 11 active players, the Illinois Tech women's lacrosse team jumped out in front 1-0 two minutes into their match at Edgewood. Unfortunately for the Scarlet Hawks, that would be their only lead of the day, as the short-handed squad was overwhelmed by the Eagles 17-4 Saturday afternoon. The Scarlet Hawks dropped to 3-9 overall and 0-3 in NACC play. Edgewood remained unbeaten in conference play at 3-0 and improved to 7-6 overall.

Edgewood's Emma Raupp tallied six goals in the match, increasing her conference-leading total to 63 goals on the season. Kelly Hitchcock scored twice for the Scarlet Hawks, and remained in second place in NACC goal scoring with 57 tallies.

The Scarlet Hawks were outshot 33-15.

Illinois Tech will need to win at least two of their final three conference matches, and then get some help along the way if they hope to qualify for the NACC postseason tournament this year.
