Chicago, Ill. – With only Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) contests remaining on the schedule, the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks women's basketball team hosted the Edgewood College Eagles on Wednesday, January 8th in a night contest. At the final buzzer, the Eagles (7-6, 3-0) would record an 82-45 win over the Hawks (5-7, 1-2), remaining undefeated in conference play.
Edgewood was off to a hot start, recording 19 straight points before Illinois Tech got on the board. Unfortunately for the Hawks, the quick start by the Eagles would prove to be too much for the remainder of the game. The Eagles would keep up the offensive pressure, going on to win the game 82-45
Halle Williams led the Hawks in points for the night, recording 11. Williams also picked up three rebounds. For the Eagles, Vivian Guerrero led the team in points and rebounds with 10 and 6 respectively. Guerrero, a senior, recorded her 1,000th career basket at the 9:01 mark in the first quarter.
