Men's Soccer Draw 1-1 against Stars

River Forest, Ill. — Men's Soccer (7-5-3, 4-3-2) and Dominican University (IL) (4-7-3, 4-3-1) played to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday afternoon, with both teams scoring their lone goal in the second half.

The match between Illinois Tech and Dominican began with both teams demonstrating solid defensive efforts, resulting in a scoreless first half. The Scarlet Hawks' offense was active with Paul Balea and Mateo Secaira each taking shots, although neither found the back of the net. Secaira's attempt in the 40th minute was a notable opportunity. The Stars also saw a chance early on, with a shot by Tristen Banquil in the 10th minute. Both teams encountered offside calls, and the half concluded without either team gaining an advantage on the scoreboard.

In the second half, Illinois Tech took the lead with a goal by Tomas Rebelatto in the 58th minute, assisted by Adam Lazarowicz and Secaira. Dominican responded when Enzo Cinque equalized in the 74th minute, with assists from Brendan Gavin and Tristan Manuel. Illinois Tech maintained pressure with several shots, but Joshua Memmelaar's saves for Dominican ensured the match remained tied. The period ended with a 1-1 score after Christian Garcia's final shot was saved.

The draw keeps the Scarlet Hawk's in fifth place in the conference standings.
