Chicago, Ill. - John Davis III and Bryce Shoto of men's basketball are the recipients of Scarlet Hawk of the Week honors for the week of December 8th.
Davis III, a senior guard and Information Communication & Data Visualization major from Pascagoula, Mississippi, averaged 22.5 points per game over two games for the Scarlet Hawks as the team went 2-0 on the week. Davis III started the week with a 16 point effort in the Hawks' 69-63 conference win over Rockford on December 10th. He followed that up with a team-high and career-high 29 points in the Hawks' 91-83 non-conference win over Kalamazoo on December 13th. For the week, Davis III was 13-21 from the field for a .619 field goal percentage, while going 4-6 from 3-point range, and 15-19 from the free throw line, while adding 6 assists, 5 steals and 2 blocks.
Shoto, a sophomore guard and Business major from Plainfield, Illinois, averaged 13 points over the Scarlet Hawks' two games last week, both Hawk victories. Included in Shoto's performance last week was a career-high 22-point effort in the Hawks 91-83 victory over Kalamazoo on December 13th. For the week, Shoto was 8-13 from the field for a .615 field goal percentage, 9-13 from the free throw line, with 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.
