Rockford, Ill. - Joshua Iguade of Illinois Tech men's basketball started his season with an 8 block performance in the Scarlet Hawks opening game of the season at Albion back in November. He closed out his sophomore season with a 17 point, 5 block performance in the Hawks' season finale at Rockford, a game in which the Regents won 76-65. The Scarlet Hawks finish their 2024-25 campaign 4-21 overall and 3-15 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play. The Regents improved to 14-11 overall and 9-9 in the NACC. Rockford qualified as the number eight seed in the NACC men's basketball tournament and will square off with number one seed Wisconsin Lutheran Wednesday night in Milwaukee.
Iguade tied a career-high with his 17 points, a performance in which he shot a perfect 7-7 from the field. Iguade's 5 blocks gave him 72 on the season for an average of 3.0 blocks per game, putting the forward from Chicago within the top five in the nation in NCAA Division III men's basketball.
Dario Biaggi added 14 points for the Scarlet Hawks, his fifth straight game scoring in double-figures. He also chipped in 4 rebounds and 2 steals.
Jace Gooley scored 11 points, had 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. For Gooley, it was his third game of double-digit scoring over his last four games played.
Alan Watatani, playing in his final collegiate game as a Scarlet Hawk, finished with a career-high 9 points on 4-5 shooting from the field, including 1-2 from three point range.
Nick Galati chipped in 8 points and led the Hawks with 5 assists and 5 steals on the afternoon.
Jaden Bell led Rockford with 19 points. The Regents out-rebounded the Scarlet Hawks 35-16.
