Chicago, Ill. – In their third meet of the season, the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks men's and women's track & field team remained local and competed in the Windy City Rumble on Saturday, February 1st. The meet, which was hosted by the University of Chicago, saw 10 teams on both the men's and women's side. The Hawks were able to get a preview of some Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) competition as Aurora University, Concordia University Chicago, and Milwaukee School of Engineering all competed at the meet.
For the team rankings, the men finished in 8th while the women finished in 7th.
Lane Regan and Rachel Brettin both claimed school record this past weekend. On the men's side, Regan picked up the school record in the 1,200 Meter Run with a time of 3:24.76. Brettin improved her school record in the women's 1,200 Meter Run with a time of 4:03.88.
At the meet, Zoe Turner finished in 3rd in the women's 400 Meter Run with a time of 1:02.28.
The Hawks return to action Friday, February 7th and Saturday, February 8th when they compete in the Keck DIII Select hosted by the Illinois Wesleyan University. The Bloomington, Ill. meet is scheduled to start at 4:00 PM on Friday and 11:00 AM on Saturday.
