Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams Honors

The 2024 Illinois Tech Cross Country Team
New Orleans, La. - The Illinois Tech cross country program received the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams honors for the 2024 NCAA Division III Cross Country season.

In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.

The women's team finished with a 3.60 cumulative GPA, while the men's team finished with a 3.38 cumulative GPA.

"I am very proud of our student-athletes getting it done both in the classroom and as a runner," said Head Coach Tyler McQuality. "This encapsulates the Division III experience we have here at Illinois Tech."

About The USTFCCCA

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is a non-profit professional organization representing cross country and track & field coaches of all levels. The organization represents thousands of coaching members encompassing NCAA track & field programs (DI, DII, and DIII) and includes members representing the NAIA and NJCAA, as well as a number of state high school coaches associations. The USTFCCCA serves as an advocate for cross country and track & field coaches, providing a leadership structure to assist the needs of a diverse membership, serving as a lobbyist for coaches' interests, and working as a liaison between the various stakeholders in the sports of cross country and track & field.

The USTFCCCA presents All-Academic honors to student-athletes and teams that excel in the classroom and in the arenas, courses, and stadiums in which they compete. Each division has specific criteria for qualification. In general, cumulative GPA and competition standards must be met for student-athletes and/or teams-in-the-whole to be honored. The USTFCCCA presents these awards in cross country and track & field. For All-Academic purposes, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field are considered on a combined basis.
