Chicago, Ill. - After opening the season with a 10-6 win against Hendrix College on February 15th, the Illinois Tech men's lacrosse team lost their next three matches in close defeats. On Tuesday night, the Scarlet Hawks were looking to right the ship against Hope College in their final non-conference match before conference play begins next week. The Flying Dutchmen had other ideas on this evening, overwhelming the Hawks with seven goals scored in the first 5:30 minutes of the game en route to a 26-4 victory. The Scarlet Hawks dropped to 1-4 on the season. The Flying Dutchmen improved to 3-4.
The Scarlet Hawks received goals from
Jackson Brass (14:06 2nd quarter),
Will Von Eyser (8:43 3Q),
Marc Rebusi (14:32 4Q) and
Yano Porter (12:16 4Q). Samuel Haensly led Hope with 4 goals, while Sam Bowen led all scorers with 6 points on 2 goals scored and 4 assists. The Flying Dutchmen outshot the Scarlet Hawks 55-16.
With the outcome of the game decided early, the Hawks were able to go deep into their bench on the evening, as every healthy Scarlet Hawk was able to get playing time in the match, including backup goalies

Ryan Littler.
