Milwaukee, WIS- Baseball dropped both ends of their Friday road double header against the MSOE Raiders, falling 10–1 in game one and 10–0 in game two at MSOE's Raiders Field in Milwaukee. Despite a promising start on the mound in game one from
Alejandro Garcia, the Hawks were undone by aggressive baserunning, timely MSOE hitting, and a series of late-inning rallies that put the game out of reach. Game Two saw the Raiders taking an early lead and continuing to add on throughout the game as the Scarlet Hawks could not mount a rally. With the pair of setbacks, the Scarlet Hawks fall to 9–15 overall and 5–5 in NACC play, while the Raiders improve to 13–10 on the season and 8–2 in conference action.
Game 1: Illinois Tech 1 MSOE 10
How It Happened
The game remained scoreless through two innings, but MSOE struck first in the third with an aggressive double steal that brought in two runs. The Raiders added another in the fourth via a bases-loaded walk before the Scarlet Hawks responded in the fifth. A sacrifice fly from
Tyler Gutsfeld drove in
Luke Yachnin to make it 3–1.
That momentum was short-lived, however. MSOE's Josh Skolmar launched a solo home run in the bottom half of the fifth, and the Raiders piled on with a three-run seventh and three more in the eighth—capitalizing on walks, errors, and a double by JJ Jackson to break the game open.
