Lake Forest, Ill. — Illinois Tech Men's Soccer (3-1-0, 0-0-0) fell to Lake Forest College (5-0-0, 0-0-0) 1-0 at Mohr Field on Friday, with Lake Forest securing the decisive goal in the second half. Illinois Tech holds a record of 3-1-0 overall after the loss to Lake Forest. Lake Forest improves to 5-0-0 overall with the victory.
The first half between the Scarlet Hawks and the Foresters saw several attempts to break the deadlock, resulting in a scoreless tie by the end of the half. Early in the match, Lake Forest's Kotaro Koumi sent a shot wide right at the 6:54 mark, followed by Nathan Kostovetsky's attempt that went over the top in the 15th minute. The Scarlet Hawks responded with
Adrian Cogolludo's shot at 19:49 that was saved by Andrew Swacha.
Tomas Rebelatto of Illinois Tech hit the woodwork in the 25th minute, marking the closest scoring opportunity for his team. Both teams struggled with fouls and offsides, while goalkeepers Swacha and
