How It Happened

The game kicked off with Marian (WI) seizing an early lead, thanks to a three-pointer from Andrew Ayeni just 30 seconds in. Turnovers plagued Illinois Tech, with 13 in the first half alone, which the Sabres capitalized on, boosted by Alex Vassilakis' sharp three-point shooting. Despite efforts from Nicolas Ortiz, who battled in the paint for the Scarlet Hawks, Marian kept control. A late layup by Derek Lindert pushed Marian ahead 34-19 by halftime.

Marian expanded their lead in the second half, starting strong with a three-pointer from Derek Lindert, assisted by Harper Krolak, just seconds in.
