Chicago, Ill— Illinois Tech Men's Basketball came out firing on all cylinders after the senior recognition ceremony on Wednesday night however a second half run from Concordia University Wisconsin saw the Scarlet Hawks falling 98-85 at Keating Sports Center. The Scarlet Hawks' record now stands at 6-17 overall and 4-12 in conference play, while Concordia Wisconsin improved to 12-11 overall and 10-6 in the NACC.

How it Happened 

The matchup kicked off with high-intensity play, as Concordia's Alex Greene opened the scoring with a jumper and a free throw for a 3-0 lead. Illinois Tech quickly leveled the playing field with a 3-pointer from Garrison Carter at the 18:54 mark, tying it up at 5. The Scarlet Hawks then surged ahead, highlighted by Isaiah Dudley's fast-break dunk, putting them up 7-5. By the break, Illinois Tech was on top 41-31, with Carter nailing a 3-pointer assisted by John Davis III in the final seconds of the half.

Concordia Wisconsin took control in the second half, outscoring Illinois Tech 67-44. Logan Landers was key, adding to the lead with a layup at 11:47 followed by a series of free throws. Casey Verhagen also made an impact with back-to-back 3-pointers at 8:11 and a late layup, keeping the momentum on CUW's side. Despite a late push from Nicolas Ortiz, who notched a layup and a fast-break three-pointer in the final moments, the Scarlet Hawks couldn't close the gap.
