As a new addition to the Illinois Tech men's basketball staff in the 2025-26 season, Karron Clarke looks to bring an abundance of basketball knowledge to the coaching staff in his first year with Scarlet Hawks.
No stranger to the Chicago area, Karron was a standout at DePaul University from 2005-08 with a career high of 27 points against Syracuse in 2006, even earning a spot ESPN's SportsCenter Top 10 plays. He has also coached in the AAU Chicago Mustangs in 2016.
After his time at DePaul, Clarke would go on to play professionally Overseas from 2009-2015, that included Denmark (Bakken Bears), Egypt (Shorta & Olympi), Harlem Globetrotters, Qatar, Japan (Sendai 86ers) & Angola.
A Brooklyn Native, Clarke was a stellar High School standout in the NYC area, earning honorable mention All American honors that is also highlighted winning the 1st of the city championships in the Public School Athletic League (PSAL) for the historic Abraham Lincoln High School in Coney Island, Brooklyn for NYC HS legendary Head Coach, Dwayne "Tiny" Morton. During this time, Karron would also play alongside future NBA greats, Kendrick Perkins, Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony & 4-time champ, All-time leading Scorer, LeBron James in the AAU circuit & the Adidas ABCD Camp.
