Celestine McGee enters her first year as Illinois Tech's assistant cross country/track & field coach in 2023

McGee has worked Higher Education for over 20 years. Her current role is Associate Director of Campus Life & Career Initiatives with IIT. She has been employed with IIT for 12 years. She has a Master's Certificate from the Stuart School of Business in Marketing Analytics & Communications. McGee is a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University with a Master's Degree in Higher Education with an emphasis on Leadership.

McGee is an avid distant runner of 5 years. She has run over 300 races and have the medals to prove it including the Spartan, Climbing the Full Flight of the John Hancock building & all Presidential Towers, and this year running 12 Half Marathons in 6 months. As a college runner of cross country along with being 1st Place in the City of Chicago for the 110-yard low hurdles while attending high school at Robert A. Waller High School (currently Lincoln Park high school). McGee is very passionate and dedicated to running and all things fitness. I received the Machine Award (No limits, No Ceilings) for running over a 365-day run streak from the Black Chicago Runners in February 2023. 

McGee is currently training with Chicago Endurance Sports to run her very first marathon in Chicago on October 8, 2023, for the charity of Inerman Angels.Â
