Mica Sanchez joined Illinois Tech as the Head Athletic Trainer on November 27, 2023. She received her bachelor's degree in athletic training from North Central College (2014). She earned her post-professional masters degree in Athletic Training from A.T. Still University (2016).

During grad school, Mica was an assistant Athletic Trainer at Brophy College Prep in Phoenix, AZ. After graduation, she moved back to Chicago and started her first job as the head athletic trainer at East Chicago Central High School. Eventually she moved onto being the head athletic trainer at Hammond Morton High School where she also taught in the English department.Â
Mica is a Chicago native and a loyal Chicago Bulls, Bears, and White Sox fan.Â
