Nathan Diambra was hired as the Department & Student Athlete Services Coordinator on January 6th, 2025.
Diambra came to Illinois Tech from Sacred Heart Schools of Chicago, IL., where he served as Associate Athletic Director from 2023-2024. In that role, Diambra oversaw an athletic department of over 400 student-athletes across 40-plus teams.
Prior to his time at Sacred Heart Schools, Diambra served as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach and Assistant Student Activities Director for Walters State Community College in Morristown, TN. from 2021-2023. Diambra served as an assistant coach on the staff of legendary junior college head coach Bill Carlyle during his final two seasons. During Diambra's tenure, several players achieved honors, including all-conference and All-American selections. In addition, several players transitioned to NCAA Division I institutions after their time at Walters State. In his capacity as Assistant Student Activities Director, Diambra organized student engagement events across five campuses, including voting day registration, holiday events, and finals week events.
Before his time at Walters State, Diambra served as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach and Associate Athletic Director at Johnson University in Knoxville, TN., from 2018-2021. Diambra was on the coaching staff on the 2021 men's basketball team that won the NCCAA Division II National Championship, along with Mideast Regional championships in 2019 and 2020. Diambra coached NCCAA Division II First-Team All-American Coby Jones, along with several all-conference honored players. As an Associate Athletic Director, Diambra helped lead the university through transition from NCCAA to NAIA membership. He led development, marketing and sports information efforts of an athletics department that tripled in size during his tenure at Johnson.
Diambra has a BS in Business Analytics from the University of Tennessee in 2015, and an MS in Recreation and Sports Management from the University of Tennessee in 2018.
Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Diambra now resides in Chicago with his wife, Hayley, and their two cats, Georgie and Oswald.
Nathan volunteers his time with the non-profit organization The Athlete's Table that helps develop sustainable, recreational sport opportunities in communities around the world.
An ardent supporter of the University of Tennessee Volunteers, the Green Bay Packers, the Chicago Cubs, and Tottenham Hotspur F.C., Nathan's plan is to attempt to eat all the incredible food the city of Chicago has to offer.
