Chicago, Ill. - In a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) on Wednesday, October 4, the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks men's soccer team welcomed the Dominican University Stars to Stuart Field. After a scoreless first 45 minutes, the Hawks (4-4-6, 3-2-1) and Stars (6-3-2, 3-1-2) would both score one goal a piece in the second half to end in a 1-1 draw.

The Hawks lone goal came in the 57th minute. An initial powerful shot for Maciek Matusiak from outside the 18-yard box was saved by the Stars goalkeeper. The shot would be bobbled by the Star goalkeeper, allowing Mateo Sanchez to jump on the opportunity to fully clear the ball out of the goalkeeper's hands and into the back of the net.

In the 77th minute, the Stars would score their only goal of the contest. Narcizo Ibarra-Rodriguez would be the goal scorer for the Stars off an Austin Montejano assist. With Montejano just inside the 18-yard box on the far side, he would cross the ball across the center of the box. Ibarra-Rodriguez would be wide open to run onto the ball and one-touch his shot into the back of the net, tying the game at 1-1.
