De Pere, Wis. - Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks men's basketball traveled north on Wednesday, November 29 to take on the St. Norbert College Green Knights in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) contest. The road contest resulted in a 92-76 victory for the Hawks (2-4, 1-1) over the Green Knights (4-1, 1-1), marking their first NACC victory of the 2023-24 season. Desmond Price led the Hawks with 25 points while Andrew Veon recorded a double-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds.
First Half (Illinois Tech 49 - St. Norbert 32)

The opening basket of the contest came in favor of the home team with a jumper at the 18:56 mark. Two free throws at 17:55 by Andrew Veon tied the game. After the tie, the Hawks ran off with the lead for the remainder of the game. A steal resulting in a layup or Caden Gigstad began a Hawk 14-0 run over the Green Knights between 17:36 and 13:05, giving the Hawks a 16-2 lead. At 7:56, the Hawks held their largest lead of the half when Desmond Price made a jumper to put the Hawks up by 21 points over the Green Knights. Here, the Hawks led 32-11. The Hawks kept control offensively as the clock ticked closer to halftime. Heading into the locker rooms, the Hawks held a 17 point, 49-32 lead over the Green Knights.
Second Half (Illinois Tech 43 - St. Norbert 44)

Coming out of halftime, the Green Knights chipped away at the Hawks lead, going on a 12-2 run between 19:41 and 16:03 to make the score 51-44 in favor of the Hawks. Starting at 13:23, the Hawks went on a 18-3 run to build their largest lead of the game. At the 9:40 mark, the Hawks led the Green Knights by 22 points after a Dario Biaggi free throw put the Hawks up 73-51. During the Hawks run, Nicolas Ortiz, Desmond Price and Biaggi all made a three pointer. The Hawks closed out the game with a 6-0 run, all coming from free throws, to win the game 92-76.
