Lake Forest, Ill. - In a non-conference match-up, the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks women's volleyball team traveled north to take on the Lake Forest College Foresters on Friday, September 22. Unfortunately for the Hawks (2-11), they would fall in three straight sets to the Foresters (6-2)
How It Happened
Set One - Foresters 25, Hawks 21

The Foresters started the set with a 6-1 run over the Hawks to take the early lead in the match. The Hawks then fought back to tie the game up at 10-10 after a kill by Victoria Vann. The two sides would then go back and forth quickly in holding the lead before the Foresters went on a 8-0 run to take the lead. The Hawks fought to stay within reach, but would drop the first set to the Foresters 25-21.
Set Two - Foresters 25, Hawks 19

Set two started in favor of the Hawks, who took an early 4-1 lead. Eventually the Foresters tied the set up for the first time at 6-6. From there, the Hawks would once again take the lead before the Foresters would tie the set up at 10-10. After the tie, the Foresters controlled the set offensively, going on to win the set 25-19.
Set Three - Foresters 25, Hawks 19

For the third set, the Foresters led the Hawks for the entirety of the set. The Hawks were able to come within reach when they went on a 5-0 run to come within one at 14-13. The Foresters then went on their own 5-0 run to take the lead, not allowing the Hawks to catch back up. By the end of the set, the Hawks fell 25-19, dropping the match.
