De Pere, Wis. - Illinois Tech men's soccer came to Northern Wisconsin Saturday afternoon looking to gain traction in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) standings in their match at St. Norbert. Unfortunately for the Scarlet Hawks, it was the Green Knights who gained ground in the standings, using a pair of late second half goals to propel themselves to a 2-0 victory. The loss dropped the Scarlet Hawks to 3-5-1 in conference play, and to 7-5-3 overall. The Green Knights improved to 5-3-1 in the conference, and to 5-7-3 overall.

The Scarlet Hawks currently sit in the 8th and final seed position for the NACC post season tournament, with three conference matches to play. Two of those matches are against teams that are chasing the Scarlet Hawks in the standings.

How It Happened

• The teams went scoreless in the first half, despite St. Norbert firing 11 shots in the opening frame.
• The Green Knights broke through in the second half, with Jonathan Hill scoring his 4th goal of the season, with an assist by Joe Meade, at 61:07
• 11 minutes later, St. Norbert got an insurance goal as Joe Anguil netted his second goal of the season, on a feed from Willem van den Akker, at 72:20, closing out the scoring in the match
