Women’s Soccer Moving on to NACC Semifinals with 9-0 Win Over Warriors

Chicago, Ill. – Entering the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women's Soccer Tournament as the No. 1 seed for the second year in a row, the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks welcomed the No. 8 seeded Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors to Stuart Field for the opening round, quarterfinal match of the 2024 tournament on Saturday, November 2nd. After meeting just one week ago, the Hawks were able to pull off a repeat, once again defeating the Warriors 9-0. Eight different Hawks found the back of the net, with center defender Gabriella Baltes scoring a brace off two headers from corner kicks, her first career brace. With the win, the Hawks improved their overall record to 16-2-2 while the Warriors finished their season with a 7-7-4 overall record.

  • 14th minute – Goal Caitie Chismarich – Left footed goal into lower left corner from just inside 18-yard box 

  • 29th minute – Goal by Allison Murray – Right footed goal into lower right corner from the just outside the 18-yard box  

  • 29th minute – Goal by Gabriella Baltes, assisted by Kayla Smith – Header goal off corner kick from top center of 6-yard box into bottom center of the goal 

  • 41st minute – Goal by Lucy Jorjorian – Right footed free kick goal from outside the corner of the 18-yard box into the opposite side netting  

  • 51st minute – Goal by Mary Frampton – Right footed goal from deep outside the 18-yard box, about 25-yards out, into the right upper 90 near post corner 

  • 67th minute – Goal by Kenzie Tokuchi – Right footed goal from outside 18-yard box placed towards the right upper 90

  • Illinois Tech out shot Wisconsin Lutheran 35-2. 18 of the Hawks 35 shots were on goal  

  • 9-of-10 corner kicks went in favor of the Hawks 

  • The Warriors made nine saves during the 90 minutes of action 

  • Four of the Hawks goals came inside the 18-yard box  

UP NEXT 

Moving on to the NACC Women's Soccer Tournament Semifinals, the No. 1 Hawks will host the No. 5 St. Norbert College Green Knights on Tuesday, November 5th at 7:00 PM.  

On Saturday, the Green Knights defeated Concordia University Wisconsin in a penalty kick shoot-out 5-4 after ending regulation and overtime tied 1-1. 

The Hawks and Green Knights met earlier this season on October 19th in De Pere, Wis. The Hawks were able to come home from the match with a 4-0 victory. Goals were scored by Caitie Chismarich, Eva Narvarte, Avery Sealey, and Joanne Porter.
