Chicago, Ill. - Joey Loriso of Illinois Tech men's cross country and
Sophia Halama of Illinois Tech women's cross country secured all-conference honors based on their finishes in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Cross Country Championship this past weekend in Geneva, Illinois. The top fifteen finishers in each event earn all-conference honors for the season.
Loriso, a senior Computer Science major from Portage, Michigan, finished 14th with a time of 26:27.49 in the men's 8k competition. For Loriso, this was his third consecutive all-conference honor. Loriso also placed in the top 15 at the conference championships his sophomore and junior seasons. Loriso and his teammates secured a 5th place finish for the Scarlet Hawks at the conference championships.
Halama, a junior Architecture major from Hudson, Wisconsin, finished 10th with a time of 24:17.27 in the women's 6k competition. Halama becomes the first ever Scarlet Hawk women's cross country runner to earn all-conference status in the program's history. Halama helped lead the Scarlet Hawks to a 6th place finish at the conference championships.
