Aurora, Ill. - In a battle of conference unbeatens and for first place in the NACC, the Illinois Tech men's lacrosse team fell on the road at Aurora 20-4. The Scarlet Hawks dropped to 6-1 in conference and to 8-6 overall. The Spartans improved to 7-0 in conference and 11-5 overall.
Despite the loss, the Scarlet Hawks still control their own destiny for securing the number two seed in the NACC Men's Lacrosse tournament. A win at third-place Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday would lock up the number two seed, and home field advantage for the opening semifinal match next Wednesday night, likely against those same Falcons of CUW.
The Spartans took control of the game early, with Aurora's Chris Bucci scoring the games first three goals in the opening seven minutes. The Spartans would put up five goals in the first quarter, eight in the second quarter, five in the third and two in the fourth quarter. The Scarlet Hawks got solo tallies from
