Chicago, Ill. - On a busy Saturday on the campus of Illinois Tech, the Scarlet Hawks baseball team welcomed the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors to Ed Glancy Field for a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) double header. In game one, the Hawks (9-12, 5-3) came back to take the 4-3 victory over the Warriors (4-17, 0-8) after a Mason Kim walk-off single scored two runners in the bottom of the seventh inning. In game two, the Hawks led from the get go. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Tyler Gutsfeld hit a grand slam to give the Hawks a comfortable lead. The Hawks took game two 10-2, earning the NACC sweep over the Warriors.

The Hawks got the action going early with a run in the first inning. With one out, Tyler Gutsfeld got on base with a single. Gutsfeld then stole second and third to get in scoring position. Michael Paxson then stepped up to bat and singled, bringing home Gutsfeld to put the Hawks on the board 1-0 over the Warriors.

Following three scoreless innings, the Warriors tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the 5th with an Aiden Montgomery lead off solo home run.

In the top of the sixth, the Warriors took the lead after Noah Zaccanti hit a 2-run homer un. Zaccanti's home run put the Warriors ahead 3-1. The Hawks closed the gap in the bottom half of the inning to make it a 1-run game. With two outs on the board, Paxson hit a solo home run to left field.

Then, in the bottom of the seventh, Mason Kim stepped up to bat for the Hawks. With runners on second and third and one out, Kim hit a walk-off single, scoring both runners to give the Hawks the 4-3 victory.

Almost matching the start of game one, the Hawks got the action going early in game two when Gutsfeld reached home, only this time off a Connor Blake fly-out, to put the Hawks ahead 1-0 after the first inning.

In the bottom of the second, with bases loaded, Gutsfeld singled, bringing home Matthew Bove and putting the Hawks up 2-0.

The Hawks then went up 3-0 in the bottom of the third when Samuel Sproule scored from second off a Michael Lindemuth single.

In the top of the fourth, the Warriors got their only two runs of the game with 2 runs scored off an Ian Rintelman single.

During the bottom of the fifth inning, the Hawks took back a 3-run lead. With runners on second and third and one out, Lindenmuth hit a sac-fly to bring home Blake for one run. Then, on a Bove single, Sproule scored, giving the Hawks a 5-2 lead.

The Hawks continued to extend their lead in the bottom of the seventh. With bases loaded and one out, Gutsfeld stepped up to bat and hit a grand slam to left field, giving the hawks a 9-2 lead over the Warriors.

Timmy Old sealed the win with a double to score Tom Kramer in the bottom of the eighth to give the Hawks the 10-2 victory.
