Women’s Soccer Earns Third Straight Win with 3-1 Victory Over North Park

Chicago, Ill. – Beginning a four game away streak, the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks women's soccer team stayed in the Chicago area as they took on the North Park University Vikings in a non-conference contest Wednesday night. Out-shooting their opponent 21-7, the Hawks (3-1) defeated the Vikings (2-3) by a final score of 3-1, earning their third straight win of the season.  
 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Firing off 13 shots in the first half, the first goal of the game wouldn't come until the 43rd minute. The Hawks tallied the opening goal of the game when Amelia Moseman scored off a penalty kick.  

  • Coming out of halftime with a 1-0 lead, the Hawks came out firing, scoring back-to-back goals. Caitie Chismarich scored off an Allison Murray assist in the 48th minute to make the score 2-0 before Lucy Jorjorian found the back of the net in the 51st minute to put the Hawks ahead 3-0. 

  • The Vikings' lone goal came in the 84th minute when Caroline Sjostedt scored off a Stine Lie assist.  

  • After the 90 minutes of action, the Hawks secured their third straight win as they defeated the Vikings 3-1.
