Chicago, Ill. - With no margin for error, the Illinois Tech women's tennis team hosted conference-unbeaten St. Norbert College Saturday afternoon at the XS Tennis Center. The Scarlet Hawks continued to compete hard in conference play, but the Green Knights pulled away for the 4-3 match victory. The loss dropped the Scarlet Hawks to 1-4 overall and 1-2 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play. The Green Knights, who have played exclusively within conference to start the season, improve to 3-0.
The Scarlet Hawks will look to make improvements prior to their next conference match on Tuesday, as the loss on Saturday and on Wednesday night at MSOEÂ were both one-point defeats. Turning around doubles play could be the extra point the Scarlet Hawks need to secure the 4th point for match victories, so a turn-around is within reach.
