HOW IT HAPPENED

Although the Hawks led the game early in shots, it would be the Grizzlies who would score first in the 26th minute. Earning a free kick about 25 yards out from goal after a Hawk foul, Theo Sasso stepped up to take the kick for the Grizzlies. Sasso would send the ball just past the Hawks two-person wall with an inside curving shot. Colin Thomas, the Hawks goalkeeper, initially got his hands on the ball, but the ball would slip through, ending in a Grizzlies goal as they took a 1-0 lead.

Making the needed adjustment, the Hawks came out of halftime quickly tying the game in the 48th minute. Receiving the ball just inside the 18-yard box, Adam Lazarowicz dribbled towards goal and placed the ball into the back of the net, tying the game at 1-1.
