Madison, Wis. - The Illinois Tech men's basketball team traveled to Madison, Wisconsin on Wednesday evening, returning to conference play with a road match at Edgewood College. The Scarlet Hawks battled but fell late, dropping their Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) matchup to the Eagles 83-76. The Hawks fell to 2-4 in conference play and 3-10 overall. The Eagles improved to 3-4 in NACC play and to 4-10 overall.
The game featured 11 lead changes and six tie scores. The Scarlet Hawks had a 66-60 lead with just under nine minutes remaining in the second half before Edgewood went on a 23-10 run to take the lead and close out the game.
The Scarlet Hawks finished with three players scoring in double figures in
Garrison Carter (20 points),
DeAndre Vortes (17) and
Joshua Iguade with a career-high 16 points.
