Mequon, Wis. — Illinois Tech women's soccer traveled to Concordia Wisconsin on Wednesday afternoon, looking to clinch the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) regular season title and the number one seed in the conference tournament. The Scarlet Hawks wasted no time, with
Hannah Ramos scoring six minutes into the match en route to a decisive 5-0 victory over Concordia University Wisconsin at Fitting Field, with the Scarlet Hawks' offense dominating with 17 shots on goal.
Kayla Smith scored a pair of goals, including her NACC-leading 11th goal of the season, while
Grace Yager and
Avery Sealey added solo tallies.
With the win, Illinois Tech improved 15-1-1 overall and 11-0-0 in conference play, clinching the regular season conference title. The Scarlet Hawks have now won the last three NACC regular season championships, and have not lost a conference regular season match since 2022. Concordia Wisconsin stands at 7-7-3 overall with a 6-4-0 mark in conference competition.
Illinois Tech opened the first half with strong offensive pressure, quickly taking control of the match. Ramos broke the deadlock in the 5th minute with a goal assisted by
Taylor Hernandez. Yager extended the lead to 2-0 by the 13th minute, showcasing the Hawks' attacking capabilities.
Continuing their offensive momentum, the Scarlet Hawks added a third goal when Smith found the back of the net in the 31st minute. The half concluded with Illinois Tech maintaining a 3-0 advantage, effectively limiting the Falcons' opportunities and keeping the home team scoreless.
The second half commenced with Illinois Tech capitalizing on its offensive pressure, as Smith found the back of the net again at the 55:57 mark, extending the team's lead. Sealey added to the scoreboard with a goal in the 63rd minute, further solidifying the away team's control over the game.
