Milwaukee, Wis. - Garrison Carter of Illinois Tech Men's Basketball earned Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Student-Athlete of the Week honors for Men's Basketball for his performance for the Scarlet Hawks this past week.
Carter, a senior forward and Business Administration major from Island Lake, Illinois, had back-to-back big games last week, posting consecutive double-doubles and reaching a career milestone with his 1000th point scored, as the Scarlet Hawks went 2-0. Carter began the week with a 26 point/12 rebound effort in the Hawks' 69-63 NACC win over Rockford last Wednesday. He followed that up with a 25 point/12 rebound performance in the Hawks' 91-83 non-conference victory over Kalamazoo on Saturday. In the game against the Hornets, Carter's 3-pointer with 2:00 minutes remaining in the first half pushed him over the 1000 career point threshold. Carter wound up going 6-9 from behind the arc in Saturday's game. For the week, Carter went 18-29 from the field for a .621 field goal percentage, and 8-14 from 3-point range for a .643 3-point field goal percentage, while also adding 3 blocks and 4 steals.
