Chicago, Ill. - Isabelle Niebler scored for a third consecutive game,
Antonia Martinez scored her 40th goal of the season, as the Illinois Tech women's lacrosse team lost a conference match to Cornell College 17-2 Saturday afternoon at Stuart Field.
Niebler scored the Scarlet Hawks first goal of the match 40 seconds into the second quarter, as Martinez fed a pass from behind the net to a cutting Niebler who shot it past Rams' goalkeeper Hannah Miech for her ninth goal of the season.Â
Niebler returned the favor when she assisted on Martinez's goal at the 11:22 mark of the third quarter, giving Martinez 40 goals scored on the season.
Martinez finished the match with 1 goal and 1 assist, 2 ground balls, 1 caused turnover and 1 draw control.
Niebler also had 1 goal and 1 assist, recovered 3 ground balls, caused 3 turnovers and won 5 draw controls.
Iona Pettigrew had 3 shots on goal and recovered 3 ground balls.
Ellis Post had 3 shots, 2 on goal, to go along with 3 ground balls and 1 caused turnover.
Lucy Jorjorian had 1 shot on goal, recovered 2 ground balls, forced two turnovers and won 2 draw controls.
Cornell's Cece Zanoni led all scorers with 10 points on 4 goals and 6 assists.
