Illinois Tech and Illinois Tech Athletics mourns the loss of
Logan MacLean, a student-athlete from our men's lacrosse team, who passed away this past Saturday.
Usha Gilmore, assistant vice president and athletics director at Illinois Tech, shared, "This is an extremely difficult time for our men's lacrosse team and the entire Illinois Tech athletics family. Logan will be deeply missed, and we ask everyone to please keep his family, friends, and teammates in your thoughts and prayers."
"Logan was a great teammate and one who would do whatever we needed him to do," said Head Coach
Dan Sharbaugh. "A lot of the roles he was asked to play on the team were thankless jobs that he did extremely well. He was consistent with his approach to everything and well-rounded as an athlete, a student, and a community member at Illinois Tech. His contributions on the field don't compare to what he meant to the team and community off of it."
Logan had just completed his freshman year at Illinois Tech, and was studying Civil Engineering.
A celebration of life is planned for Logan on Saturday, June 14th in his hometown of La Jolla, California.
