Tvesa Vathulya extended the lead with a goal, bringing the score to 2-0. Despite a quick response from Hope's Grace Fowler in the 27th minute, Illinois Tech maintained a 2-1 advantage going into the break, aided by a strong defensive effort and multiple saves by
Kayla Hampton.
The second half began with Illinois Tech showing offensive intent, as Vathulya and
