Chicago, Ill. — The Illinois Tech Men's Tennis team faced a tough opener, falling 7-0 to Lake Forest College on Saturday at XS Tennis. The Scarlet Hawks struggled to find their rhythm, dropping all matches in both singles and doubles play.

After this match, Illinois Tech starts the season at 0-1, while Lake Forest improves to 2-0.

Lake Forest set the tone early by capturing all three doubles matches. At No. 2 doubles, the pair of Bernardo Aguiar and George Ciuca overcame Pedro Cano-
Accino Roca and Hozumi Tada, 6-3. Joao Espindola and Tim Pasea followed up with a 6-3 win over Pol Dueso Guell and Joseph Au at No. 3 doubles. The sweep was clinched by Rodrigo Cunha and Felipe Moraes, who edged out Alexander Feher and Tanay Sharma in a nail-biter, 7-6(1), at No. 1 doubles.

In the singles lineup, Felipe Moraes led the charge for Lake Forest with a straight-set win against Pedro Cano-Accino Roca, 6-2, 6-2, at the top spot. Bernardo Aguiar delivered an impressive comeback at No. 2 singles, defeating Tanay Sharma, 3-6, 7-6(3), 10-7. George Ciuca kept the momentum going with a 7-6(4), 6-4 victory over Alexander Feher at No. 3 singles.

Joao Espindola secured the decisive point at No. 4 singles, battling past Pol Dueso Guell in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 10-6. Rodrigo Cunha widened the lead with a commanding 6-0, 6-3 win over Hozumi Tada at No. 5 singles, and Zeke Bisharat concluded the sweep by besting Joseph Au, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 6 singles.
